Schemer Seven: Lounger Lovers

Lounger lovers: With plans for summer projects already underway, thoughts inevitably turn to outdoor furniture. Our selection of loungers should hopefully provide some quality relaxation ideas.

1 Vondom Pillow lounger lr


Contemporary Spanish outdoor furniture specialist Vondom has produced Pillow with Italian designer Stefano Giovannoni. The bold but comfy piece is made from FOC polyethylene resin, with a gloss lacquered finish similar to car paint, for ultra durability.

2. Summit crop


Boomerang is a new collection by Summit, who work with plantation-grown, sustainable teak to create outdoor and indoor furniture, often supplying pieces for luxury super yachts, hotel and private club schemes. This is the adjustable Chaise with Dri-fast foam cushions.

Germany’s Dedon, one of the biggest names in the world of luxury outdoor products, has teamed up with another design giant Philippe Starck on its latest range. It includes the Rayn Daybed, part of a modular system comprising of a couch and corner options.

Christophe Pillet set out to capture what “can not be easily found in outdoor furniture: simple, timeless quality with a touch of detached elegance” with Round, for Emu. The pressed sheet metal also comes in white, light grey, Indian brown, antique iron, and red.

Gaze Burvill recently added the King Lizard to their range, a double version of the single Lizard Lounger which won a Design Guild Mark for Excellence in Design when it was launched in 2012. The oak frame is adjustable is five stages from upright to completely horizontal.

McKinnon Harris

The Otey Sun Chaise is the newest lounger from American estate, garden and yacht furniture specialists McKinnon and Harris. Available in Gywnn’s Island grey and powder blue, it is slightly smaller than the company’s other chaises so works well in tighter spaces.

7 Vincent Shepperd

Vincent Sheppard

Belgian company Vincent Sheppard merges contemporary production ideas with classic aesthetics. A Lloyd Loom manufacturer, they mix paper woven techniques and polyethylene fiber and powder coated aluminum materials for total weather resistance.
