News: RIBA House of the Year longlist
RIBA has announced the longlist for the 2017 RIBA House of the Year Award. Each year the award recognises some of the best new builds and extensions designed by UK architects. Highlights of this year’s choices include; the Woodsman’s Treehouse, a self build treehouse in Dorset with its own suspension bridge and slide (pictured left), designed by Brownlie Ernst and Marks Limited. Highgate House, a contemporary brick house with full-height windows in a north London conservation area, designed by Carmody Groarke and Redshank, a cork clad holiday home that floats above Essex Marshland designed by Lisa Shell Architects Ltd with Marcus Taylor are also amongst the list of 20. The awards shortlist will be announced in the autumn.
