This week we shine the Studio spotlight on British design studio Pinch. So far this year the brand has opened a bigger shop on Ebury Street, in Pimlico, and collaborated with Mourne Textiles to produce a collection of cushions and wall hangings that celebrate artistic making – all part of Pinch’s 15th anniversary celebrations.
There will also be product launches in September as part of London Design Festival. Here’s a preview of two key pieces to look out for:
Rodan is the first circular dining table by the studio featuring a strong, solid base which contrasts with the lightness of its solid oak top. As with all Pinch pieces the detailing is exacting with a signature chamfer detail to the edge of the table to ensure the gentlest engagement with the natural beauty of the timber.
Next up is the Roubel sofa, a simple yet sumptuous piece that exemplifies Russell Pinch’s design approach which is to create sculptural shapes with a lightness of touch and an architectural rigour.
