Introducing the Mass table from Tom Dixon

The Mass table, new from Tom Dixon, is manufactured in the UK and made from one single extruded box section of brass. By using the most familiar unit in furniture construction – the plank – and presenting a series of familiar objects in a highly polished gold hued metal, Tom Dixon has made domestic archetypes into monumental heavyweight sculpture.
The rectangular plank is used in a multitude of configurations and will eventually be presented as a made to measure construction set, with a series of pre-determined junctions that allow architects and interior designers the liberty to construct their own Mass artefact.
Tom says, “We wanted to create something super-basic in terms of construction so that it’s very reduced, minimal and logical yet simultaneously it is the opposite in aesthetics in that it is extremely precious and desirable.”
