Despite the name, Glass Design also adapts its forming and decorating techniques to other materials – in this case ceramic. The Mode series features an undulating rim, as if straight off the potter’s wheel, with two versions to choose from. Lux, as shown, comes in gold, bronze, silver, or dark inox and costs £828. The Classic style is available in volcano, sand, or white and is priced £640. Each basin has a 40.5cm diameter and measures 16.2cm high.
The Modo range from Roca is centred around bespoke pieces that can be moulded and sculpted into individual pieces for all interiors. Using new Surfex® material, a malleable solid surface made from minerals and resins, the products include everything from a complete bathroom suite to basins and freestanding baths. The Surfex solution is poured into the production mould, which allows for complex pieces with no joins or seams.
The Square Perfection WC from Toto has a bold geometric wall-hung design alongside a series of subtle functions including the faster soft-close lid mechanism, an extra slim seat made from durable resin, and a reduced flushing noise below 64.8dB. Ideal for retro fitting into a contemporary bathroom scheme, its rimless design also comes with a CeFIONtect glaze, which protects the ceramic by reducing the accumulation of dirt and bacteria, as well as Tornado flush technology with jets that propel water into the toilet bowl for a powerful whirlpool effect for deeper cleaning. It costs £744.
Alternative Bathrooms’s modular Dogma collection fuses Italian style with a Zen-like focus on harmony and balance. The extensive system of beautiful basins, cabinetry and storage offers interchangeable elements in a wide range of sizes, materials and colour options, including smooth matt marble-effect porcelain (as shown), metal, timber, and solid stone. These allow for completely individual configurations to be designed. The washbasin unit is priced £2,080.80; wall units, £2,808.
New for 2018 is the Marbles collection of ceramic tiles with its affordable and realistic interpretation of natural stone. With three tonal variations in a neutral palette, options include Versus Warm Grey, Versus Cream, with a dusky rose undertone, and the soft, ivory shades of the Celebration Cream design. Available in two sizes and suitable for walls and floors, the Marbles range also reveals a contemporary patterned option in the smaller size, with linear waves for a tactile 3D effect. It costs £24.99 per sq m.
Aqata has expanded its Design Solutions range with the DS500 Quintet shower enclosure. This five-sided model fits perfectly into corners while maximising the floor area for a feeling of more space. Made from 10mm frameless glass, it comes in two sizes – 900mm x 900mm and 1200mm x 900mm – with continuous clear seals to fit seamlessly between the glass and hinges, as well as magnetic closing for watertight showering. As part of the new offering, coloured wall fixings are available in gold, polished nickel, and brushed nickel finishes as an alternative to chrome. Prices start from £2,100.
