Studio’s sister publication kbbreview is launching an extension of its annual awards, with the Lockdown Special design competition.
Managing editor Andrew Davies floated the idea on his LinkedIn account and the response was so positive he decided to organise it there and then.
The kbbreview Retail & Design Awards 2020: Lockdown Special will be a conceptual design competition. Everyone will be working from the same brief. You can either choose the kitchen, the bathroom or both from that brief. It’s open to absolutely anyone and any design tool can be used. Davies said, “All those designers stuck at home can keep exercising their creative muscles with a project that has no restrictions on budget or ideas. I want to see things I’ve never seen before!”
There will also be an Under 16s category to keep those budding young designers busy.
The winners will not only get a kbbreview Retail & Design Awards 2020 trophy – just like the winners did at the official event back at the start of March – they will also get a pile of prizes kindly donated by suppliers and manufacturers, including a Nintendo switch courtesy of Rotpunkt for the under 16s winner.
