Decorex, the leading exhibition for interior design products, has announced its return to a central London location from 2019, as well as new dates.
London exhibition venue Olympia will now host the event from Sunday 6 October to Wednesday 9 October 2019. This marks a conscious move away from the London Design Festival, which typically takes place in mid September, and towards the cluster of art and design events happening in the capital in early October, including PAD and Frieze.
“The logistical and travel issues [of the current Syon Park location in west London] were always a conversation point for visitors and exhibitors,” Decorex brand manager Sam Fisher said. “Olympia London is undergoing the biggest regeneration in its 130-year history, transforming it into a creative hub that will provide more space for a richer, bolder Decorex experience.
Moving the date brings the show back to its high-end roots by aligning it with an extraordinary breadth of culture, decoration and contemporary art and design.” Next week marks the last outing for Decorex at Syon Park – its fifth time at this location. The show is expected to retain a similar size and focus in 2019. Decorex is part of UBM, which was recently acquired by international events company Informa which also owns contemporary interior design products exhibition designjunction.
