The Society of British & International Design (SBID) has appointed Tom Marquardt as its new president.

Marquardt, who has been the society’s vice president for the last two years, will serve a 12-month term in his new role.

He replaces Diana Cellala, who succeeded SBID’s founding president, Dr Vanessa Brady OBE.

“My role will include championing industry improvements, design and thought leadership with the organisation to further the vision of SBID in raising standards of the design profession across the world,” Marquardt said.

“This is a crowning career role for me and I will work hard to use this platform to continue to contribute to the success of the industry in the coming months and years.”
