This week we bring you candy bright upholstery from Roche Bobois, a distinctive basin and mirror from Devon&Devon plus the Anders light in new sizes from Pinch.
Double Kalos is Devon&Devon’s second collaboration with designer and architect Massimo Iosa Ghini. The double basin with mirror offers a modern take on the traditional pedestal basin and is inspired by the theme of the couple. The design combines two Kalos basins (previewed at Cersaie 2019) with circular mirrors merging to generate a new, balanced shape. The mirror can be back lit with LED on request.
Pinch has launched two new stock sizes for its Anders light. The company now offers a large option, which lends elegant theatre to dining or lobby areas, and a smaller option for narrower, more modest spaces. The Anders light was originally inspired by a magazine tear of a couture underskirt, where the twirls and folds of the petticoat created a poetic drapery that is now expressed in the banana fibre light pendant. The company says, “Anders stands as a piece of sculpture in its own right and, when illuminated, it casts a very gentle and atmospheric warm glow, which adds a drama to a space, but in a relaxed Pinch way.”
Roche Bobois has collaborated with Portuguese artist Joana Vasconcelos to create Bombom, a collection of seating and accessories to celebrate its 60th anniversary. Vasconcelos says, “When I look at these pieces with their curves and winding lines, I see a series of shapes meant for interiors. I wanted to call on the customers’ creativity, I wanted them to feel free to compose with
the modules and the choice of colours. I designed these pieces with the hope that people would make them theirs, play with them, while preserving the importance of comfort, and a sense of flavour and joie de vivre.’’ The collection includes sofas, which combine fluid organic shapes with vivid colour, the backs of which are independent allowing you to compose your own seating arrangements. Rugs and cushions are also available.
