Here are three products that caught our eye this week. A decorative garden screen, abstract handmade rug and colourful freestanding bath
Screen with Envy is a new British company producing garden screens that combine a growing desire for decorative outdoor spaces with the need for privacy.
The screens are made from durable wood composite which is weatherproof and needs minimal maintenance. With designs inspired by traditional Arabic architecture to trellises adorned with botanical prints and floral patterns.
The Himalaya Collection of handmade rugs is new from Topfloor by Esti. The rugs are all hand knotted and custom made so you can specify any size, any colourway and any material including wool, silk, bamboo or viscose.
Designer Esti Barnes explains the thinking behind Marble, one of the designs from the collection (shown) “The word marble comes from Ancient Greek and it means ‘shining stone’. This rug is inspired by the amazing stone that comes from the depths of the earth and is called Nero Portoro because of its colours. The textures are enhanced by the use of silk on a black wool background.”
Having recently debuted its 100% matt service, British bathing brand Victoria + Albert Baths now offers an even greater variety by combining this with its RAL colour offering. Customers opting for one of the Standard Matt (SM) finishes on a V+A bath or basin – a 100% matt finish, inside and out – can now choose from 194 exterior colours.
Crafted from the same Quarrycast™ as with all the freestanding baths and basins in the Victoria + Albert range, the new matt design is a mould finish, as opposed to a paint or gel coat. This means it benefits from being a solid material throughout which the company says is scratch and stain resistant, wipe-clean and ambient to the touch.
The colourful exterior of the bath or basin is created by using a catalysed paint, with hand polishing between applications.
