Under the Studio spotlight this week – the ME collection for Duravit by Philippe Starck, Ben Pentreath outlines his new collection for Morris & Co and the striking Stand bathroom by Nom Architects for Ex.t
All ME by Starck washbasins and matching toilets are now available in the new white satin matt ceramic finish. There are six basin solutions from 430mm to 1300mm wide, each featuring a slim profile. The vanity basin, in four widths, features a generous shelf area, while the console basin can be combined with a vanity unit or various consoles. The rimless toilet and bidet in the range are designed to be sleek, without visible wall fixings, and there is the option of a SensoWash slim shower toilet seat. ME by Starck is available from Duravit
Architectural and interior designer, Ben Pentreath, has collaborated with Morris & Co to create a joyous collection of colour and pattern for AW20. Pentreath says, “I have loved the William Morris archive for as long as I can remember. If, like me, you are old enough to remember everyone’s houses in the 1970s and 80s decorated with seagrass squares on the floor and William Morris on the walls and the sofa you will understand the deep nostalgia and sense of a slightly simpler time that these patterns evoke. There is a sense of comfort and happiness in these fabrics and patterns that could not be more relevant today.” The Queen Square collection from Morris & Co will run across wallpaper and cotton/linen fabrics.
The Stand collection for Ex.t was designed by Nom Architects. Inspired by the modernist style of the 1920s and 30s Stand includes a console basin, bath and mirrors described as having, ‘Geometric purity, simple naturalness and sober authenticity.’ The metal detailing across the range is available in black, white
